On a warm summer evening in August the town of Luyksgestel celebrated the return of their hometown hero Harrie Lavreysen. The Olympic champion won 2 gold medals and a bronze during the 2020 Tokyo games held a few weeks prior. Now back home Harrie is welcomed back in grand fashion. Between 400-800 people are expected to show up for the celebration put on by the town backed by the municipality of Bergeijk. As the sun slowly starts to drop towards the horizon hundreds of people are seated in anticipation. Waiting to catch a glimpse of the kid. The kid that grew into a hero in front of their eyes.
